Lack of Interest

I completed the Patriots Dream quilt top just before Bootsy died. It's been hanging on the design wall since then. I have the backing and batting ready. But, my heart is just not into going into the sewing room and doing any kind of meaningful work. I wander in, look around and leave. Bootsy and I spent so much time together there. Not that she wasn't part of every inch of our home. It's just the sewing room seems more painful a place to be without her. I'm just not ready I guess....so projects linger as I heal.

I'm so sorry for your loss but you're right to give yourself time to grieve and heal. It will come with time and then you'll be ready to finish up what you and Bootsy started.

So sorry.

I feel your pain and know how hard these days are. Just give yourself time to heal and know we are all here sending our love and comfort. Bootsy's spirit will always be there with you.

I'm sorry Angie. It may seem callous, but years ago we lost two mini schnauzers in an 18 month period and because we are so accustomed to being a 2 dogs/2 people family, we got replacements within a week each time. The remaining dogs were calmed by having a new partner and we felt like our "pack" was back on track. Our dogs are now 12 and 10 and when the time comes, we'll do it again.
Major hugs to you!!!!

I think it's hard to get back into a routine when a loved one has died, especially one that kept you company all day. Take care, one day soon you'll feeling like working again.

I feel that way too when life sends a blow my way - sometimes the sewing room is a healing place and sometimes I have no emotional energy for it. But eventually the spirit to create comes back and that is truly a gift. I still grieve for my "dog of a lifetime". There will never be another one like her. But if I could, I would share my love with another dog.

I am really sorry for your loss. I've been through it too and I know how it feels. Hugs to you. (I'd send you a lick, but I don't think you'd really appreciate it?)

When the time is right, you will return to your sewing. In the meantime, enjoy what makes you feel good.
