Machine Embroidery

I recently had the chance to attend a Anita Goodesign event at our local Pfaff dealer. My plan was to only purchase the special edition Tree of Life design at an event discount, but when I saw the Prayer Garden CD, I liked it!---so, I've started a new machine embroidery quilt project.
The Prayer Garden
I really like that it incorporates fabric strips into the design, and it's all done in the machine hoop.  I've made one block, and today I started the second one. Like the crazy quilt I made last year, it's very addictive to sit and play with the thread colors, fabrics and designs.
Arranging the fabric strips in the hoop, stitching them down and starting to do the center embroidery.
I'm using Moda's California Girl jelly roll strips. (seem's appropriate!)
Some of the first block designs.

Ohh..very pretty. I've never done embroidery in the hoop. I should try it sometime.

oh, I *love* the way the embroidery fills up the entire background fabric! Many times, the design has a lot of "white space" around it so it *looks* like a block and they can look kinda "ho hum" in the design sense. But, these embroideries look like they are part and parcel of the entire quilt. Well done!

Just beautiful!! These pictures inspire me to get out my machine's instructions and learn how to do the embroidery. I, too, love the strips of fabric around the design.

Another beautiful quilt. I like the embroidery and the fabric strips in combination to make the blocks. Very nice.

I have that pattern also and I am going to start it after Christmas for my sister who is battling cancer. I am going to change some of the bible verses though to be more soothing.
