A Walk on the Wild Side

I thought I would take you for a walk down the driveway and out to the mailbox and back.  I try to do this often, but it's a hike more than a walk. Good cardio workout, especially coming up the steep driveway.

Heading down the hill from our house. It is a beautiful hike!

Walking out to the mailboxes and back is about a mile.
I don't do this in the evening as I worry about meeting the "critters".
Mountain lions have been spotted in this area. Darkness comes early down in the more shaded and wooded sections.

Turn right and we are on our way----

Ivy and ferns along the way

Look up at the mighty Oak

We have a lot of black berries this year.

 Walking on the Wild Side!

Leaning Oak

We have mail!

  Headed back home---more wild

Headed back up the driveway it's a steep hike

Looking down the driveway towards the east.

We are almost home---

Home is good!

Thanks for the walk down your driveway. It looks a lot like my area but believe it or not you are a bit more manicured! We are working hard this summer to clear brush and we don't have as much shady area. I know what you mean about not walking early in the morning nor late in the evening because of the critters. Too bad because those are the most pleasant times for a stroll. Those berries look pretty good for a snack while you walk I must say.

It was a wonderful place to grow up. I used to scare myself walking on the road though :)

Having driven up and then down your driveway, I know how steep it is. You are a courageous woman!

Oh my stars how GORGEOUS!!!! Hike or bike... either way, I agree with you about the time of day and critters. I am still in awe of the beauty. Thank you for the walk!
