Some Finished---Some Started

I have finished a few quilts the past month or so---

This is the "Lukey Quilt"---a Linus quilt project I made last year, but never finished quilting---Finished.
This "Kids of the Month" machine embroidery quilt is finally finished---
This quilt is Jenny Doan, Missouri Star Quilts "Double Slice Layer" finally finished and gifted to my friend Emma--
I've started a new machine embroidery project. The Anita Goodesign, "Blanket Stitch" baby quilt. Pictured here is one of the connector blocks for the middle portion of the quilt. Below are a few pictures of the embroidery blocks. Love Anita Goodesign's projects!

That's it for now---

Hi Angie! Your quilts are simply gorgeous! Love the one with embroidered blocks. I've been wanting to make a quilt with redwork blocks. I have a lovely embroidery machine that has hardly seen the light of day, I think I'm intimidated by it. Anyway, do you have an suggestions as far as stabilizer for redwork machine embroidered blocks? Thanks so much for your help!

Beautiful work! I love them all but the Double Slice layer cake quilt is gorgeous in that fabric line. I know your friends is loving the gift!

Hi Katy,
Thank you for visiting my blog and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the quilts. Please, please get out your machines Users manual, some Muslin fabric, some tear away stabilizer and just learn to hoop, and do some of the machines built in designs---following the instructions in in the book. This is the first thing I did when I got my first embroidery-sewing machine. Way back when.
For Redwork type machine embroidery there are some newer stabilizers that don't pull on the stitches when you remove the stabilizer from the back of the embroidery.
One brand is by Floriani. Called Stitch n Wash. Also, Baby Lock has something similar. Maybe you have a local source. Or I'm sure you can find them on the internet. Have fun, and enjoy your machine. Don't let it intimidate you!

Wow! You have been busy this month. I like all your quilts. Isn't it wonderful when you have a finish? I have 6 quilts, again, that need binding. I still have my even feed foot on my machine, so I can get bindings on more easily. I just need to trim the quilts and find the binding and sew it down. Sounds easy doesn't it? Then why have I not done this? Dunno! Also, I am almost finished with panel #1 on my SQ project. But I have a problem. I do not have page 6, the one with the directions for embroidery on the quilts. So I will just match my colors the best I can.
