Eye Surgery-Missing in Action

I had eye surgery on Wednesday for "drooping eyelids" which I have endured for the past year.  It has been affecting my vision for sewing and reading and when push came to shove, I opted to have Interior Ptosis surgery on both eyes this past Wednesday.  The healing process is long, but has not been painful. It's keeping your head upright, and not bending over that is the difficult part. Oh, the cold ice compresses every hour or so do make my eyes feel better too.

Today I can see pretty well, (through a blur)--- so I'm writing to let you all know why I'm missing in action. Literally---there is nothing going on in the sewing room, in the garden, in the kitchen or at the long arm. I did load my Sansa Fuze with audio books, and it's been a great deterrent to the sheer boredom of not being able to read or do much of anything.

More later---Happy Mother's Day!

Angie, good for you for having such a surgery done. It must have been a very scarey decision to make.

And the healing process?? Keeping your head in an upright position? Not being able bend over (good gosh, how many times a day do we do this unconsciously?) and not being able to see clearly enough to do anything? I'd go stark raving bonkers!

You're in my thoughts & prayers for a speedy recovery!

Oh my gosh, this sounds painful and scary! I sure do hope you heal fast and without incident. I know you must have really needed it to be brave enough to tackle such a surgery so it will make a huge difference for you I'm sure. Once it's over you'll be so glad. I'll be thinking of you so get well soon.

Oh my, I've never heard of this. Please take care of yourself and be patient with the recovery as our eyes are everything in quilting, reading, etc. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Angie -- when you can see to read this then you'll be feelin better! Hoping you heal quickly and can get back to doing the things you love. I had some surgery several years ago and like you could not bend and had to keep my head up. It was not fun! Pretty soon you'll be better than normal!
